About Pelvic Health Physiotherapy

About Pelvic Health Physiotherapy

The Back in Motion Pelvic Health Physiotherapy consists of the assessment and treatment of various conditions that involve the pelvic floor (muscles, ligaments, nerves and connective tissue), or symptoms presented in the area. Our Physiotherapist, specialized in female pelvic health, will assess and prescribe exercises and therapies to rehabilitate and strengthen the muscles lining of the pelvic floor.

This service is available at Back in Motion Health Coquitlam location for female clients.

The Pelvic Floor

The pelvic floor supports muscles and organs (bladder, rectum and reproductive system). When this support weakens (due to certain conditions and circumstances), individuals may experience pain, incontinence, organ prolapse, and other symptoms related to the pelvic area.

Our treatment approach provides you with education and behavioural changes. Your Physiotherapist may also suggest other treatment options, including referral to other professionals (with your consent), if beneficial for your own needs.

Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy treatment requires client consent, which may be withdraw at any point. You may bring a family member or friend to your appointment, or request for a witness during your appointment.
