Back in Motion now offers Physiotherapy and Kinesiology services through video conferencing technology and telephone. Our Telehealth services allow clients to connect with their physiotherapist and kinesiologist in a secure, easy, innovative and convenient way!
About Telehealth
Telehealth is the service delivery of healthcare, whether clinical or educational, through telecommunication channels (telephone or video-conferencing). Telerehabilitation is a sub-group of Telehealth that describes the delivery of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Kinesiology via telecommunication channels.
The same expectations outlined by each profession’s regulatory body with respect to standards of conduct and code of practice apply regardless if the session is delivered in-person or virtually.
Telehealth services is in full compliance with Professional Regulatory Bodies (Psychology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physicians) with respect to guidelines, policies and practice directives.

Before Your Appointment
To attend a Telehealth appointment, you will need a Jane App account, a desktop/laptop computer or tablet (with camera and microphone), internet connection and an account with our scheduling software. No software installation is required. Staff will guide you on how to obtain all required steps.
You will receive an email confirming your appointment and providing you with the link to connect with your healthcare provider.
You will receive a notification prior to your scheduled appointment, to remind you to connect.
You will also receive any documentation or forms to review or complete prior to your appointment.
You may connect to your appointment by clicking on the link provided in the orientation email, or by logging-in to your Jane App account. Once you click on the appointment link, your clinician will be waiting for you. Easy as that!
If there are any specific preparations required for your appointment, you will be advised prior to your appointment. day.
During Your Appointment
In your first appointment, you will sign a consent for services being delivered through Telehealth.
Your clinician will do a comprehensive assessment, provide you with a diagnosis and share your treatment plan, which will include pain-management techniques, education, guidance and prevention. In addition to that, you will be set-up with a Physitrack account, a world leader in remote patient engagement through an exercise platform. Through this software, your Clinician will prescribe you an individualized exercise routine to support you through recovery. As needed, your treatment will also include a gradual plan to return to hobbies and physical activities.
After Your Appointment
At the end of the session, you will be reminded to book your follow-up appointments. You may do that with your clinician or call one of our locations.
If applicable, and part of your treatment session, you may receive subsequent exercises and educational materials via email.
You will also receive an email to complete a client satisfaction form, to provide you with the opportunity for feedback and suggestions. We take feedback seriously, and we implement comprehensive quality improvements plans to better serve you, every day.

Privacy of Information is priority for us. Back in Motion Telehealth services utilizes secure platforms and our Clinicians are intensively trained to be professional, respectful and follow industry and services best practices and guidelines (similar to the in-person appointments).
Healthcare services can be delivered in-person, through Telehealth, or a combination of both.
Telehealth is covered with direct billing by most insurance companies and extended health plans, with limited exceptions. To inquire about your coverage, please call any of our locations to speak with a staff member. Clients should also refer to their specific Extended Medical Plan coverage for details on services and coverage available. If you have coverage, Back in Motion Health directly bills most Extended Health Plans (verify if your plan is on our list), or provides a medical receipt to be used on request for reimbursement.

WorkSafeBC Claims
Workplace injuries are usually due to trauma or overuse. If you have been injured as a result of a workplace activity, our team of experts at Back in Motion can perform a comprehensive assessment and develop a treatment plan to reduce your symptoms and rehabilitate your injury.
If your claim is approved by WSBC, your initial assessment is 100% covered with a WorkSafeBC Claim number. Once your claim has been accepted by WorkSafeBC, the full treatment cost of your appointments will be funded (within the approved time parameters). When you are ready, your physiotherapist will work with you, your employer, physician, and WorkSafeBC Case Manager to develop a safe and appropriate return to work plan. If your claim has been denied or is disallowed, the expenses will need to be covered by the Client.
