Chiropractic Care in London: a combination of manual adjustments and soft tissue release
About Chiropractic Care in London
Chiropractic care is a regulated health profession focused on diagnosing, treating, and preventing musculoskeletal disorders, particularly those involving the spine. Chiropractors in Ontario are trained to perform manual adjustments to the spine and other parts of the body, aiming to improve mobility, alleviate pain, and support overall health.
The practice is overseen by the College of Chiropractors of Ontario (CCO), which ensures that chiropractors meet professional standards and are licensed to practice. Chiropractic care is popular among individuals seeking non-invasive treatments for back pain, neck pain, headaches, and other joint or muscle issues. Contact us to schedule an appointment with a chiropractor in London.
Is Chiropractic Care recommended for me?
In your first appointment, your Chiropractor will perform a comprehensive assessment (physical and medical history), and provide you with a diagnosis and explain the recommended treatment. Your Chiropractic will evaluate if this treatment is recommended for you. When appropriate, chiropractors refer patients to medical doctors or other health practitioners for additional treatment.
Keeping current with latest methods, our Chiropractors use a variety of techniques to give you the best chiropractic treatments for many types of pain and joint-related problems. Chiropractors treat many conditions affecting the nervous system and musculoskeletal system, like:
- Back, lower back and neck (cervicalgia) pain
- Sciatica pain
- Whiplash
- Scoliosis
- Discopathies
- Repetitive strains
- Headaches
- Foot Care (orthotics)
- Sports related injuries
- Motor vehicle related injuries
- Arthritis
- Injuries from a fall
- Arthropathies, tendinopathies, sprains and strains
- Postural issues and conditions
- Neuralgias (nerve pain)
- Immobility and stiffness
- Pregnancy discomfort and/or pain
- Concussions
Chiropractors use adjustments and joint mobilizations to restore function and to support the nervous system. Chiropractic treatment can also include modalities, joint bracing/taping, orthotics, cold laser therapy, shockwave therapy, exercise and stretching prescription, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, soft-tissue therapies, lifestyle recommendations, fitness coaching and nutritional advice. These will be chosen according to your injury/condition, aligned to your individual needs and to your treatment plan.

What to Expect from Your Chiropractic Appointment
Before Your Appointment
If there are any specific preparations required for your appointment, you will be advised prior to your appointment day. If applicable, please bring along any diagnostic test results you may have had done in the past (X-ray, MRI, CT scan, etc.)
Your First Appointment
Your first visit consists of a comprehensive assessment, where your Chiropractor will get to know you better through the collection of your medical history and a physical examination (posture, movement, muscle tone, and neurological signs and symptoms).
Your Doctor of Chiropractic will provide you a diagnosis and explain the recommended treatment for your condition, individualized needs and goals. If needed, and to help you achieve better results, your Chiropractor may refer you to further testing or imaging, or to other therapists at our clinic.
If time allows, your first visit will also include a treatment.
Subsequent Appointments
The chiropractic treatment itself is individualized and very specific to your diagnosis and health history. Using manual (hands-on) techniques, the chiropractor will manipulate soft tissue and joints to influence healing and return your body to a state of pain-free function. These chiropractic techniques are non-invasive and most often painless. Your chiropractor will reassess the results from the treatment, and will provide you with home-care methods to optimize results, which often include heat/cold techniques and specific exercises.
Your Chiropractor will constantly re-assess your condition and make any adjustments required to the treatment plan.
At the end of the session, you will be reminded to book your follow-up appointments, when needed. You may do that with your clinician, call one of our locations, or book online.
After Your Appointment
Although most patients feel improvement after, it is normal to feel some soreness or tenderness in the areas worked on for a day or two following treatment.
You will be advised by your chiropractor on what home care to do following your visit. This may include heat or ice, exercises, stretches, and certain postural changes.

An adjustment is a safe technique applied by the chiropractor to a specific joint to improve mobility.
No, chiropractors do not only perform adjustments on the back and neck. While spinal adjustments are a key part of chiropractic care, chiropractors are trained to assess and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal issues throughout the body. This includes joints, muscles, and nerves in areas like the shoulders, hips, knees, ankles, wrists, and even the jaw. Chiropractors may also provide soft tissue therapy, exercises, lifestyle advice, and ergonomic recommendations to support overall health and well-being.
This is created from a pressure change of small pockets of air in the synovial fluid of the joint tissues that are stretched during an adjustment.
Chiropractors are spinal health and well-being specialists who have a minimum of 7 years of post-secondary education. Many have a Bachelor’s degree and all have a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree.
