On the other hand, a physiotherapist diagnoses diseases and disorders associated with the musculoskeletal system. They can also help treat individuals with cardiovascular and neurological conditions.
Types of Injuries Treated
Both kinesiology and physiotherapy treatments are highly effective for individuals experiencing sports injuries and lower back, neck, shoulder and knee pain. They can also help manage chronic conditions like arthritis. However, physiotherapy is typically reserved for more serious medical issues and acute injuries and conditions.
Session Frequency
How often you see a professional depends on the severity of your injury or condition. Generally, kinesiologists may recommend seeing them once or twice a week for a few weeks, whereas physiotherapists may recommend seeing them a 1-3 times a week for anywhere from 1 – 6 weeks. It’s crucial to follow the recommendations of the professional and continue with your rehabilitation program to ensure a full recovery.
