NEW – Back in Motion is now offering Physiotherapy and Kinesiology clients through video conferencing technology and telephone. Our Telehealth services allow clients to connect with their physiotherapist and kinesiologist in a secure, easy, innovative and convenient way!
Our clinicians have extensive training on delivering services through this channel. We take professionalism and privacy seriously, and our care is, as always, client-focused.
What is Telehealth?
Telehealth is the service delivery of healthcare, whether clinical or educational, through telecommunication channels (telephone or video-conferencing). Telerehabilitation is a sub-group of Telehealth that describes the delivery of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Kinesiology via telecommunication channels.
The same expectations outlined by each profession’s regulatory body with respect to standards of conduct and code of practice apply regardless if the session is delivered in-person or virtually.
Telehealth services is in full compliance with Professional Regulatory Bodies (Psychology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physicians) with respect to guidelines, policies and practice directives.
Both Telehealth and Telerehabilitation feature all aspects of patient care:

How does Telehealth work?
– If Telehealth is right for you, you may book your appointment by phone or online
– To attend a Telehealth appointment, you will need a Jane App account, a desktop/laptop computer or tablet (with camera and microphone), internet connection and an account with our scheduling software. No software installation is required. Staff will guide you on how to obtain all required steps.
– You will receive an email confirming your appointment and providing you with the link to connect with your healthcare provider
– You will receive a notification prior to your scheduled appointment, to remind you to connect
– You will also receive any documentation or forms to review or complete prior to your appointment
– You may connect to your appointment by clicking on the link provided in the orientation email, or by logging-in to your Jane App account. Once you click on the appointment link, your clinician will be waiting for you. Easy as that!
What should I expect from my first Telehealth appointment?
In your first appointment, you will sign a consent for services being delivered through Telehealth.
Your clinician will do a comprehensive assessment, provide you with a diagnosis and share your treatment plan, which will include pain-management techniques, education, guidance and prevention. In addition to that, you will be set-up with a Physitrack account, a world leader in remote patient engagement through an exercise platform. Through this software, your Clinician will prescribe you an individualized exercise routine to support you through recovery. As needed, your treatment will also include a gradual plan to return to hobbies and physical activities.
At the end of the session, you will be reminded to book your follow-up appointments. You may do that with your clinician, call one of our locations, or book online.
You will also receive an email to complete a client satisfaction form, to provide you with the opportunity for feedback and suggestions. We take feedback seriously, and we implement comprehensive quality improvements plans to better serve you, every day.

Healthcare services can be delivered in-person, through Telehealth, or a combination of both.
Is Telehealth Covered under my Extended Health Plan?
Telehealth is covered with direct billing by most insurance companies and extended health plans, with limited exceptions. To inquire about your coverage, please call any of our locations to speak with a staff member that can answer your questions.
